For a clothing OEM/ODM order, settlement currency is the currency agreed for payment. Confirm it before approving a quotation, paying for samples or releasing a bulk order. A currency symbol alone is not enough: use an explicit code such as USD, EUR or CNY in the commercial documents. These are examples, not a list of currencies accepted by Yumulin.
What currency can I use for a Yumulin order?
Yumulin is a clothing OEM/ODM manufacturer based in Humen, Dongguan, Guangdong, China, supporting style development, sampling and bulk production. Our quotation specifies the settlement currency, amount and validity. Include your preferred currency in your inquiry so the team can confirm the available arrangement for that order. A target-price currency selected on an inquiry form does not establish an accepted payment currency.
Separate quotation currency, settlement currency and your budget
Your brand may budget in its home currency while a factory quotation uses another currency. If payment will use a different currency from the quotation, agree the conversion basis in writing before transfer: the rate source, when it is fixed, rounding and who confirms the final payable amount. Do not silently convert an invoice using a search-engine rate.
For an arithmetic illustration only, an invoice of USD 10,000 converted at an assumed rate of 7.00 CNY per USD equals CNY 70,000 before any fees. This is neither a current exchange rate nor a factory quotation. Exchange-rate changes can alter the amount in your own budgeting currency even if the invoice amount stays fixed.
Check these details before approving the quotation
- Currency code, unit price, quantity and total, using the same style and size allocation.
- Separate sample, development, labels, packaging and other agreed charges.
- What shipping or other costs are included and which delivery terms apply.
- Quotation expiry and whether a later material or quantity change requires a revised price.
- Payment milestones, amounts, due dates and the documents used for each request.
- Responsibility for sending, intermediary and receiving bank charges, including how a shortfall is resolved.
There is no universal deposit percentage or bank-fee arrangement for every clothing order. Record the agreed terms rather than copying a percentage from another supplier. Use our clothing quotation comparison guide to compare the complete scope.
Keep sampling and bulk payments traceable
Link every payment request to an order number, quotation or invoice version and the agreed milestone. If a sample fee may be credited to bulk production, ask for the eligibility conditions and credit amount in writing. Confirm any revised balance after changes to quantity, material, decoration or packing.
Before scheduling production or shipment, obtain the supplier's confirmation of the received amount and the relevant release condition. A transfer receipt records a payment instruction; it does not by itself establish that the intended beneficiary has received the full amount. Allow time for the payment checks within your production schedule.
Verify bank-detail changes independently
Confirm beneficiary identity and payment instructions through an established contact channel. For a change in bank details, call a previously verified contact rather than relying only on the new email or its attached invoice. The FBI's IC3 guidance on business email compromise recommends a secondary channel to verify account-information changes.
Frequently asked questions
Does choosing USD on the inquiry form fix the settlement currency?
No. It describes your target-price preference. The accepted currency and payable amount need confirmation in the quotation and payment documents.
Can we change currency after the quotation?
Ask before paying. The supplier must confirm whether the requested currency is available and issue the agreed conversion or revised payment document. Do not assume the original price applies unchanged.
Who pays conversion and bank fees?
Agree this for the specific order with the supplier and your payment provider. Compare the expected total debit and expected amount received, not just the displayed exchange rate.
Where can I learn about exchange-rate exposure?
The International Trade Administration's Trade Finance Guide explains foreign-exchange risk. Ask your bank about the conversion services relevant to your transaction; this article does not recommend a hedging product.
