A custom tracksuit is a coordinated product made from two garments. The jacket and pants need their own measurement and construction specifications, plus a shared standard for colour and presentation. Approving them separately can miss differences that are obvious when worn together.

Decide how the set will be sold and worn

Specify training, travel or everyday use and the intended layering. Decide whether customers can select different top and bottom sizes or whether sets are sold in a fixed combination. That decision affects size allocation, labels and packing.

Provide separate drawings and measurement charts for jacket and pants. Review the combined silhouette, including jacket length, waistband position and leg shape. Check sitting, reaching and walking rather than only a standing front view.

Coordinate materials and colour references

If top and bottom use the same fabric, identify whether the bulk order should share the same approved lot allocation. If they use different constructions, review physical colour matching and appearance under agreed lighting. Identical colour names do not establish an acceptable match.

  • Compare body, rib, mesh, zip tape and drawcord colours together.
  • Identify whether contrast panels should match or deliberately differ.
  • Record fabric weight, stretch and finish for each component.
  • Approve any change in material with both garments present.

Inspect details that affect daily use

Check zip operation, pocket depth, waistband construction, cuffs and drawcord management. Review seam bulk and the way trims interact with the fabric. For team or club programmes, confirm name or number placement before adding personalised elements to the order.

Assess care behaviour on the complete set. Differential dimensional change can alter proportions even if each component still looks acceptable alone. Record the method used for the sample review and the actions required before approval.

Questions before ordering matching sets

Can jacket and pants have different order quantities?

Ask the factory to assess the two garment batches and material purchasing together. Do not assume a set price permits unrestricted size or quantity mixing.

How should sets be packed?

Define whether garments are paired, separately bagged or allocated to individuals. Match that choice to the sales model and packing list.

Use the colour approval checklist and submit your jacket and pants brief with the proposed set allocation.
